Our Honey

From your first bite, you will realize that Zambia Gold is not your ordinary everyday honey. Our fair trade, natural, and organically certified honey is what honey is supposed to taste like. Upon opening the jar you will be hit with a rich aroma that is absent from most honey found in the grocery store. The pure flavor of our product comes to life whether it is used in cooking, as a topping, marinade, or eaten by the spoonful. After enjoying honey this delicious, you will not want to have anything else.

Part of why our honey is so amazing is the work involved in harvesting the product. Zambia Gold Forest Honey is produced in an 11,000 square mile virgin forest in Zambia, in Southern Africa, far from industry, commercial farming, towns and large populations. All of the land within the bee's flying radius is certified organic, and the entire operation is inspected yearly. Zambia Gold is USDA certified 100% organic by Oregon Tilth. The USDA seal on the label guarantees that Zambia Gold is grown, harvested, and bottled in an environment free from pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, and genetically engineered crops. Our farmers are independent cultivators who learned the craft from their ancestors, and continue to use those same methods today. Our beekeepers often scale forty-foot trees to obtain the best crop possible, and you can rest assured that Zambia Gold Honey is free of preservatives and additives. Zambians take great pride in their honey, and the quality of their work is evident by the rich and flavorful product they produce.

Tree Climbing

Not only does our honey taste great but it also produces positive development for the Northwest Province. All our honey is purchased so as to maximize profits for the beekeepers, and all profits from the sale of Zambia Gold Honey go straight back to the community. The heart of our giving back program is based around education and the sponsorship of the Chilena Basic School. You can read more about the school under our 'Giving Back' link. Chilena Basic School is only the beginning of our commitment to supporting the Northwest Province, and as our sales grow so will our ability to help and support the beekeeping community as well as all residents of the Northwest Province. Do something good for yourself and for others, purchase a jar of our amazing honey today!
